Here at First Choice Distribution (FCD) we believe that integrity leads to long-standing relationships with our customers. Those customers call us the tugboat and we are extremely proud of that!

The mighty tugboat … a fraction of the size of the huge vessels it directs, yet it masterfully maneuvers with its massive charges through crowded harbors, narrow canals, and tricky turns.

It is a privilege to act as the tugboat for our customers for 50+ years!  Through our unique approach to tailored inventory solutions and best-in-class service we flawlessly guide our customers to overcome inventory challenges and drive costs down.

Richard Johnson

President & CEO

Richard is a graduate of Dana College with a bachelor's degree in business…
Richard first joined our team in 1998, bringing in over a decade of sales management experience and industry expertise. In 2022 Richard stepped into a new role as President & CEO with a focus on protecting the future of the business and the approximately 30 families who work here. He is proud to be a hands-on owner who is actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the business rather than leading from a distance. Leading by example through a strong work ethic, accessibility, and willingness to work alongside employees at every level of the organization. Dick is not just the owner of First Choice Distribution, he is one of its builders that have been with FCD the entire time. In his personal time Richard is active in his church community, and values spending time with family.

Bob Campbell

CFO

Bob is a graduate of Robert Morris University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Bob has been with our team since 1999 providing multifaceted and
flexible support across our company. We credit Bobs’ expertise to his versatile
background in high-level buying across multiple industries, coming to us with over a
decade of experience. His experience in high-level buying strengthens his organized
approach as our Chief Financial Officer, ensuring our accounting department runs
smoothly and builds trusting relationships with our customers. Much like his path in our
company he is ever growing in his personal life. Husband, Father, Grandpa, Bob holds
family close to his heart. He also enjoys a range of hobbies—his personal favorite being
competitive handgun shooting.

Zoey-Thompson

Zoey Thompson

Human Relations Manager

Zoey is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree…

in business administration & human resources. Zoey has been with our team since 2023
and brings a diverse leadership background to her HRM role; including five years as a
licensed nursing home administrator. There, she managed a team of 120+ employees
and led a 10-person management team, with responsibility for operations, financial
performance, compliance, and strategic planning. Her experience leading large, cross-
functional teams in a complex regulatory environment informs her practical, people-
centered approach to human relations. In her personal time Zoey enjoys reading,
traveling, creative outlets, and upholding the family title of “Best Aunt Ever”.

Chris Snyder

Purchasing Manager

Chris has been with our team since 1999, bringing in a plethora of industry knowledge as she…

stepped into her role as Purchasing Manager. Chris shows strength in her
attention to detail and building personal relationships with suppliers across the globe.
She is an integral component in the progression of technical systems, problem solving,
and approaching any task with the mindset of betterment for our company, proving if we
move as a team, we can navigate an ever-changing industry to ensure our customers
have what they need. In her personal time Chris enjoys traveling with her husband,
golfing, and is a passionate quilter and textile artist. She shares her love of creation with
generations before, passing that love down as her family grows.

Nicholas Campbell

Distribution Manager

Nick is a graduate of Simpson College with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice…
Nick has been with our team since 2017 as distribution manager, taking responsibility for our 100,000 sq. ft. local warehouse. He provides an abundance of knowledge in the world of distribution and warehouse logistics with an organized approach to stronger service. Establishing assigned delivery days in correlation with a customized truck route, managing our local fleet of delivery trucks, building driver to customer relationships by being quick and adaptable to ensure the customer is not only taken care of, but seen and appreciated in every step. With the fast-paced warehouse environment, Nick spends his personal time grounding in the outdoors, reading, traveling the world, and spending time with his wife and ever-growing pet family.
